Description
Thanks to the Nile, around which Egypt built its culture, Egyptians know that only
an abundant supply of water defends it against the desert. This is why the authorities
launched the Toshka Project which brings water from Lake Nasser via a long aqueduct
to a vast depression to the north of the lake. Over 15 years, the project has led
to the creation of an artificial lake and a doubling of the agricultural area of Egypt.
