Forest of Iguazu (Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay)

Description

Famous for its majestic falls, the landscape of the Iguazu region on the borders of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, has undergone a drastic transformation following completion of the Itaipu Dam in 1982. Agriculture has spread rapidly at the cost of the tropical forest, especially in Brazil and Paraguay. On the Argentine side, however, the advance of agriculture is less marked because of a di¤erent development policy.
