Sand and Sustainability: Finding New Solutions for Environmental Governance of Global Sand Resources

Description

This new report raises awareness on sustainability challenges and solutions for sand extraction and consumption, recommending joint actions to update existing standards, monitoring programmes and initiate dialogues across the sand value chain. The report was produced through expert dialogue at a roundtable event in October 2018, facilitated by UNEP/GRID-Geneva and the University of Geneva and funded by the Federal Office of the Environment, Switzerland.
