Description

In the state of Louisiana (in the south-eastern United States), the watershed of the Tensas river was covered in forests in the past. Following the establishment of vast soybean plantations, especially in the 1960s and ‘70s, 85 % of the forest area was converted to fields, exacerbating floods and erosion in the region.
