Description

Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, located at an altitude of 2200 m, has been one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the world. The population will soon reach more than 20 million, twice as large as in 1973. The forests which covered the mountains to the west of the city have largely disappeared thanks to urban expansion.
