Challawa Gorge Dam

Description

Completed in 1993, construction of the dam has had both positive and negative impacts. Even though the dam has allowed uninterrupted irrigation, not all farmers benefit. Those who live downstream from the dam no longer receive enough water which is causing the soils to dry out and is leading to overgrazing.
