Grasslands of the Upper Green River (usa)

Description

The Upper Green River Basin in Wyoming near the famous Yellowstone National Park, combines sagebrush steppe with pockets of forest, mainly fir. Historically, the region was rich in biodiversity and important Amerindian cultural sites. However, under its surface the area is also rich in oil and gas. Today, more than 3000 wells dot the landscape. It is expected that the number of wells will soon triple.
