This report contains the preliminary account of the Initiative's findings in two case study regions, Central Asia and South Eastern Europe. These regions were selected for pilot studies due to the complex web of environmental and socio-economic conditions that together may pose a risk to stability and to the lives and livelihoods of the populations.
