Description
At 5900 m, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. This gives it the privilege
of wearing a white crown even though it is only 300 km from the equator. But the eternal
snows of Kilimanjaro are under threat and climate change is the cause. It is estimated
that the ice cap lost 82 % of its mass between 1912 and 2000. It may disappear
completely by 2020.
