Description

The 1991 Gulf War led to one of the worst environmental pollution
of those last years. In January 1991, Iraqi army deliberately released
908 – 1741 million litrers of crude oil in the sea. A month later
they set ablaze more than 700 oil-wells. More than height
months were necessary to extinguish them. Several hundreds
millions of barrels went either to smoke or contaminated
the ground and water already limited in this region.
