Launch of the "Second Assessment of Trans-bound ary Rivers, Lakes and Groundwaters in the UNECE region" project

The "Second Assessment of Trans-boundary Rivers, Lakes and Groundwaters in the UNECE region" was launched at the Seventh “Environment for Europe” Ministerial Conference in Astana (Kazakhstan) from 21 to 23 September 2011. It provides relevant information and stimulus for governments, river basin organizations and international and non-governmental organizations to take action to improve the status of transboundary waters and related ecosystems. GRID-Geneva contributed to this Assessment by producing numerous graphs and maps.
