Flood model for Kerala, India, including climate change projections

Date: Nov. 16 2020

In order to reinforce the adaptive capacities of the Kerala State to floods, a downscaled flood model was developed in the Kerala region as part of the Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) project. Climate change projections based on CORDEX were introduced according to the RCP8.5 scenario. Detailed maps of the water heights according to different return periods (from 10 to 500 years) were produced.
